Thursday 3/19

I started the day with a staff meeting via Zoom. It looked as though most people were at home, with Linda, Scott, and Kristina in their offices. I was very glad not to be there. I got good reactions about my plan for an online reading group. We will continue to be paid as before, which is obviously a blessing, but leaves me feeling obligated to put in the same time I did before, which is not easy while supervising Maddie's school work at balancing my emotional health.

P went into work around 12. Maddie did some light school work while I worked at the dining room table. We then went for a long walk around the neighborhood, waving at people on their porches and walking down streets we haven't before.

P came home as we were eating dinner. I spent time in the evening cleaning up the part of the basement with my tools and sanding a blanket ladder. It was loud and gratifying - there is more to be done.

P and I watched an episode of the Hillary Clinton documentary, which was not an inspiring watch. At 4 in the morning, the alarm on P's car went off- it sounded like someone tried to get in his car. We didn't see anyone and Joyce seemed oblivious, but it was disconcerting.
